Director of the Year
Recognizes an outstanding emergency management director who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and service in protecting their community. This award honors an individual who has made significant contributions to emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation while strengthening coordination among public safety agencies, government officials, community partners, and residents.
Agency of the Year
The Emergency Management Agency of the Year Award recognizes an entire emergency management agency for outstanding service, leadership, and dedication to the safety and resilience of the community it serves. This award honors the collective efforts of agency staff, leadership, and partners who work together to strengthen preparedness, coordinate emergency response, support recovery, and reduce the impacts of future disasters.
The Bill Worth Award
Honors excellence in leadership to be presented by the Emergency Management Association of Tennessee and the Tennessee Emergency Management Authority. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions in leadership of emergency management activities, and who are credited with providing identifiable support for local and state government or industry disaster preparedness.
Emergency Management Professional / Employee of the Year
Recognizes an individual who consistently goes above and beyond in their daily commitment to the profession
Emerging EM Award
Awarded to an emergency management professional with less than two years of experience that has demonstrated outstanding dedication, initiative, and potential. This award honors someone who has made a meaningful impact early in their service through professionalism, teamwork, a willingness to learn, and a strong commitment to public safety. The recipient of this award is not eligible for the Director of the Year.
Public Information Officer
of the Year
Recognizes the contributions by Public Information Officers, newspapers, radio, or television stations that have done a truly outstanding job in assisting local emergency management activities
Volunteer of the Year
Recognizes an individual or group who has demonstrated outstanding, dedication, leadership, and selflessness
Outstanding Contribution to the Profession
Given to an individual who has made a long-lasting, significant contribution to the broader field of emergency management in the state
Industry Partner of the Year
Recognizes companies/organizations, or individuals employed by companies/organizations, who have made significant contributions toward improving or supporting emergency management activities and are credited with providing identifiable support for local and state government or industry disaster preparedness.
