PLEASE NOTE - IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

 

The EMAT Standards, Training, and Certification Committee is in the process of updating the existing TN CEMP, EM1 and EM2 certification criteria and process.  We anticipate that this will be completed within the next 60 days (March 1st). 

 

Effective 1 January EMAT will not be accepting certification or recertification packages or requests.  If you are planning apply please wait until the new materials and processes are released.

Emergency Management Association of Tennessee (EMAT)

The Certified Emergency Management Program was created to raise and maintain professional standards in the State of Tennessee.  It is a program to certify basic competencies within the profession.  The intent of the program is to certify the education and experience of professionals from the proficiency level to senior level to advanced level. The chairman of the Emergency Management Program Education Review Committee will lead the evaluation process and make recommendations of policy to the EMAT Executive Board.

Certification Fees

  • EM 1 $30.00

  • EM II $55.00

  • TN-CEMP $110.00

  • Recertification fee (any level) $30.00 – every 5 years on the anniversary of approval*

  • *For those seeking recertification, please fill out the first page of the application (contact information), pay the fee, and send the application form with copies of your 50 hours of continuing education for the last 5 years to emat.information@gmail.com.
